The  Basic Course will run on Saturday mornings in the Fall term.

It would run from 9 AM to 1 PM, and will be held at a training facility in the London area.

The cost will be $100 per student, and will include a copy of the official student guide, as well as a one year membership for LARC.

The Exam will be administered by a examiner, and will consist of 100 multiple choice questions.

A pass is 70 percent, and 80 percent will earn the student the extended ability to use the HF bands.

The course consists of the following topics:

    Intro/Basics                

    Ohms Law/Power              

    Inductors/Capacitors        

    Waves, propagation          

    Feedlines, antennas

    Devices/Power supplies      

    Station

    Receivers

    Modulation & Transmitters   

    RFI, safety, regulations          

    Testing         100 multiple choice questions

 

The course will have live demonstrations of radio equipment, guest speakers and the opportunties for students to make contacts world wide.
